ABSTRACT

Dear Reader,

NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy is widely used to determine structure of potential drug compounds or NCEs. However, the more important and significant use of NMR is in detecting and identifying impurities. Peaks of common organic solvents and solvent excipients are already investigated and recorded. Even through NMR is not being routinely used by pharma industry, NMR facility is available in leading pharmaceuticals Research facilities with Corporates and academic research institutes. A few leading public testing laboratories are also equipped to used NMR for pharmaceutical analysis and impurity identification.
