ABSTRACT

Dear Reader,

Organic bicyclo compounds contain two rings with two common atoms called as bridgehead atoms. There exist at least nine classes of substituted bicyclic hydrocarbons. Camphor and a-pinene are well-known examples containing carbon bridgehead atoms. Replacing the carbon bridgehead atom by nitrogen or phosphorous leads to aza- and phospha-bicyclo compounds, respectively.
