ABSTRACT

The present era is witnessing a renaissance of herbal products due to the credence of having no or minimal adverse effects allied with them. The present lifestyle (stress, anxiety, lack of nutritious diet, lethargy, unusual sleep pattern etc.) as well as pollution triggers the hair loss not only in later age but also in younger ones. Keeping this problem and advantage of herbal products in cognizance, a herbal hair oil containing various herbs (Emblica officinalis, Allium cepa, Murraya koenigii, Azadirachta indica, Eclipta prostrata, Bacopa monera) for general purpose has been formulated and evaluated. Among all the prepared formulations, the formulation F3 was found best in terms of pH, viscosity, specific gravity, acid value, saponification value and refractive index with optimum values in all cases.
