MECHANISTIC OUTCOMES OF LIPID CORE ON SOLID LIPID NANOPARTICLE CHARACTERIZATION

In our present study modified double emulsification method using homogenization and ultrasonication followed by ultracentrifugation. The anti-HIV drugs lamivudine, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, Efavirenz SLN were synthesized using lipids Compritol 888 ATO, glyceryl monostearate, stearic acid and emulsifiers soy lecithin and pluronic F127. The synthesized SLN were characterized for compatibility studies, mean particle size, PDI, zeta potential, surface morphology and entrapment studies. Compritol based (F4 formulation) SLN showed maximum entrapment efficiency with comparatively larger sized, homogenous particles. All the lipid based SLN possessed no incompatibilities with high stability profiles. Among all, Compritol 888 ATO was selected as the best lipid for SLN formulation based on the results of surface morphology, zeta potential and high entrapment efficiency values.
