A new analytical method is developed along with validation study, by means of a high resolution liquid chromatography (HPLC) of reverse phase to quantify Ximenynic acid [XMA] in Santalum Album linn Extract. The antiaging activities were assessing by anti-elastase and anti-hyaluronidase enzyme assay. Determination is carried out by means of ZORBAX SB-C18 Column, 5µ (4.6 X 250 mm); the mobile phase consisted of methanol and water. The HPLC method was validated to fulfill International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) requirements and this validation included specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision and robustness. Antiaging assay showed that XMA exhibited significant elastase and hyaluronidase inhibition activity as compared with catechin. The proposed HPLC method is simple, rapid and reliable and can be successfully applied in industry for standardization of herbs and phytomedicines also XMA could be served as a novel antiaging in Pharmaceutical as well as cosmetic industry.
