Medicinal plant extracts has the bioactive secondary metabolites which is used in the drug to treat various human ailments. The objective of the present study is to analyse the phyto compounds present in the Talinum portulacifolium (Forssk.) Asch. ex Schweinf Leaf. FTIR spectra of the spots from the four fractions showed the N=O (Nitro), C=O (Stretch), N-H (Primary and secondary amine and amides) (bend and stretch), C-H (Aromatics (out- of- plane bend)), C-X (Flouride), C-I(iodide), C-Cl (Chloride) and C-Br(Bromide) functional groups and its wave length. The present study showed the phytocompounds present in the spots. It is necessary to find the biocompounds present in the plants which is used in the pharmaceutical industry.
